This course examines physiological growth, maturation, and long-term athletic development principles as they relate to children and adolescents. Students explore pediatric metabolism, musculoskeletal development, neuromuscular coordination, body composition assessment, and age-appropriate training adaptation. Emphasis is placed on structured program design, motor skill acquisition, strength and endurance development, plyometric training, sport psychology, youth nutrition, and injury prevention. Students develop competency in designing safe, developmentally appropriate performance programs aligned with growth patterns and long-term athletic progression models.
